KEEPING A HAPPY BLADDER

Showing that we love our body is to take good care of it. Especially our bladder which is a muscular sac storing our urines from the kidney and permitting us to urinate voluntarily.
In another term, it has a very important function and role in our body. Thus, we need to be considerate of it and keep it healthy all the time.

bladder, keep happy

Now, here's how to avoid trouble in regards to your bladder:

1. Watch your weight
Better keep a healthy diet and healthy weight. Try to check your BMI or Body Mass Index in which your height should match to the corresponding weight required.

2. Exercise
One perfect exercise that is good for the pelvis is the Kegel exercise. It involves squeezing and twisting the muscles. It is as well a good exercise to maintain bladder control.

3. Be careful with your medicine intake
Always check the kind of medicine you're going to take and better tell your doctor about your concerns with your bladder so that he or she can prescribe you a good medicine which won't affect your bladder in any way. There are more or less three hundred kinds of medicines which can actually worsen your bladder conditions.

4. Be careful with your choice of beverage
Beverages such as beer, soda, tea or coffee can increase bladder activity and may eventually lead to leakage. Moderation is always the good solution for your caffeine or alcohol intake.

5. Stop smoking
The same with moderating your drinking habits, smoking should as well be prevented and minimize if you can't put an end to it. Smoking cannot only increase the risk of cancer but the nicotine can as well irritate your bladder for long time use.

6. Drink water every day
Don't just drink water but make sure that your water consumption every day is at least 1.5 liters to 2 liters or which equivalent to at least six to eight glasses of water every day. Water is a healthy fluid which can help clean your bladder and avoid infections and irritants caused by other food or fluid intake.

Our bladder plays more than just one important role in our body but two main functions. First, it helps to store urine in our body and then eventually get rid of it. It is composed of smooth muscle which is controlled by our nervous system which gives automatic signals whenever we feel like peeing or urinating. A normal bladder can empty four to seven times a day depending on how frequent is your fluid intake and can withstand or hold for up to three-quarters of a pint. The nerves will eventually send messages to our brain when our bladder starts to feel full and in response to this, our brain will inform us that it is now time to go to the nearest toilet or comfort room and at the same time, it will order the muscle remain closed until they are allowed for the releasing.

Thus, we should not take our bladder lightly. They are very important to us as they truly deserve the care and concern they can get from us.
